The Beautiful Bride

Copied from http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/49110/jewish/The-Beautiful-Bride.htm

From the Chassidic Masters...

A distraught young woman came to Rabbi Israel, the Maggid of Kozhnitz. "Rebbe, help me," she said. "My husband has deserted me!"
"Why did he leave you?" asked Rabbi Israel.
"He says that I'm ugly," said the woman.
"And what do you say to that?" asked Rabbi Israel.
"Rebbe!" cried the woman. "Under the wedding canopy I was beautiful in his eyes. Suddenly I'm ugly?"
Rabbi Israel lifted his eyes to the heavens: "Master of the Universe! When you wed us at Mount Sinai we were beautiful in Your eyes. So what happened? Why have You turned Your face from us?"

what a sad story!

recently i have through a jewish friend of mine re-discovered the Love Sick Lover HaShem is.  He has not and will not EVER turn his face from his beloved Israel...

Gen 26:1-6  Israel is Gd's chosen people, if this has somehow been spiritually replaced then who is Gd?  If He has changed what He said then how can we trust that the New Covenant wont be abdicated?

How can we trust that He truly is compassionate and slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, and forgiving wickedness rebellion and sin?

What foundation does our personal testimony have if Israel is no longer the bride?

Lrd i pray you show yourself strong to all the world.  Set the captives free, abolish the oppression of Your Holy people in Your Holy Land Israel.  Thank you for history and truth!  continue to teach, continue to move, do not let your hand of mercy withdraw!  Are Your arms so short as to not reach our personal troubles and fears?  Show Your self strong!  Let us not be proud or puffed up.  Let us love and see the value You place on human life.  Who is like You?  Who can compare?  When were You created and when will You end?  Who is above you?  Who can create without You?  Who can protect without You?

If it wasn't for the Lighthouse where would our lives be?

  3. Cass, hi to you.

Carlye, before i studied this Jewish stuff i could only trust my personal experience. sometimes personal events aren't encouraging, yet because we have Israel's history we can look and trust and see that He has a plan and purpose. its an eternal perspective. so, much better than just my personal testimony alone.
