i AM the man in this Relationship

I realize the blogger population is satiated with females, so this might not be the best title for a gender conscious 22nd century blogger.  But please read on before you burn me at the stake.  maybe at the end of it you'll want to cook me a steak instead. :)

Gd as a woman?  A gorgeous radiant single lady?  why not?  Her ways are not our ways, they are Yaways...  Yes, i have been exploring Gd as a ridiculously good looking female (i say that for the pop culture joke quote from... whats the name of that movie... man forgot it!!).  But for real, if Gd was a single young bacheloret how would that change how i perceive Her?  Last installment i came to the conclusion i would be terrified if the perfect woman seemed interested in me.  This installment we will be shelving that concept but move on to some other juicy realities.

I AM a man.  Thats how Gd made me.  She wanted me to see the world through a man's eyes.  She wanted me to experience life as a man.  i have quite a nice beard, i pee standing up, and i like fire WHY? because She made me this way.  She says in Her good book that She longs for me in a romantic way.  She is pursuing me.  Yet, i am a man.  Men are the ones who do the pursuing around her Missy!!  What good does it do me to imagine Gd as a woman if im still going to treat Her like a man??  (i do rather like the thought of being pursued btw)

this led me to ask my small group girls a simple question.  "How would you let a boy know you were interested?"  they all had pretty much the same answer.  "I'd try to be normal and do nothing.  HE is supposed to PURSUE ME, but my girlfriends will inevitably ask me why i was all giggly and talkative with him."  what a fun topic.  people love to talk about love and romance and such.  it was great but the responses didn't seem to help me at all.  Gd wouldn't be real talkative and nice and flirty then stop.  Gd is steady, perfect, doesn't make mistakes.  She wouldn't play games with me.  She wouldn't make me want to listen to NSYC...

"quit playing games with my heart..."  you know you like that song.

then i got to thinking...  Girls are amazing.  i mean a Gdly girl who can find?  they are more precious than diamonds.  There is something about a girl that loves the Lrd.  A gracefulness, A peace, A strength, A tenderness, A joy (A+ is more like it!!).  If Gdly women are so great how could i not attribute these positive traits to the One that gave them those traits?

Voula, my Gd has taken on a whole new level of amazingness (ya, i know. not actually a word).  She notices me from far away and wants to be closer.  She cautiously approaches perhaps hiding behind some ferns or plant stuff.  Or maybe She is busy about her day walking by and stealing a glance with a smile.  Her joy attracts me.  We speak.  Suddenly She's gone.  Where did she go?  I didn't even get Her number!  I see Her at the grocery store... (Hmmm we must live close to each other and have the same sort of work schedule)  She's wearing fine clothes and preparing food for Her family.  She can cook!?!  I ask for Her name.  'Adonai...'  what a beautiful name, what does it mean?  Hey where did She go!!

When i have searched for Her hours upon hours i finally find Her.  I'm a little upset She's making it so hard to find Her.  Yet, as She dances and smiles my frustrations melt away.  All i can think about is Her.  All i want is Her.  We get some food and eat in my car that night.  We talk for hours and what seems like days and never repeat a topic.  never a dull silence.  I want to spend my whole life with Her...

well, folks, that kinda got out of hand!!  haha  talk about goo.

goodness.

ciao!

  1. you touch on an interesting thought. i know that Gd has all the lady traits as well - i mean who else would they come from? but as a woman its so easy to see Him as a man...
i have a friend who was abused by her dad for years. to truly trust Gd at first it helped for her to look at Him like the Mama hen, pulling her in under her wing and protecting her. as she grew, she accepted His Him-ness...but it took a while.
    interesting.

  2. the movie is zoolander, btw.

i don't quite follow, "G-d wouldn't make me want to listen to NSYNC."

i'm glad you've finally realized the magnificence of my gender. :)

i will have to say, it is very strange for me to hear you addressing Him from this perspective. it feels weird- awkward. is this how men feel all the time, viewing the L-rd as bridegroom and such?

  3. when typo's abound editors increase.

it is quiet a strange feeling ms kait. usually this perspective just passes through one ear of the eager male's head and out the other coz its sooooo strange...
i'm glad your realizing how hard my gender has it :)

And Carlye, it's easier for a guy to see Him as a man too... but it's super hard for me to relate to the gooie lovie dovie. maybe because masculine affection is so frowned upon in America?

  4. what exactly belongs to the typo? :)

i personally don't frown upon male affection. neither did MA in general. sometimes it was a little much, actually...do you remember?

  5. Oh, i remember... one could argue that that type of male affection is something other than affection.

  6. First of all, to your first comment...we want you to be the man in any relationship. G-d made each gender for a reason and when men aren't men things get pretty twisted.

Second there are lots of teachings and books and such where G-dly men have addressed this topic. I see where it would be strange. I'm pretty sure the L-rd welcomes the wrestle.
