I love the L-rd

"It's just a little while longer and I'll see You.  It's just a little while longer and I'll know You.  It's just a little while longer and we'll be together."

Do you ever miss the L-rd?  Sometimes I am simply over come with desire to see Him.  It actually hurts, like grief.  I couldn't describe it until Bickle said, 'love sick.'

Heshel's "Man is Not Alone" and Bickle's teaching on Song of Songs agree.  There is a passion and desire that is fostered before the L-rd that can't be fulfilled.  The more of it we get the more we want it.  This may scare some of us.  Though we may not actually be able to identify it as fear.  The problem is our perspective.  The point isn't for our desire to be quenched, the point is for the desire to become stronger and stronger.  Till it consumes everything in our lives.  To submit and submit till it all we want is to be with Him.  He is truly a consuming fire... Jealous for us...  Desiring not just our actions and service but our whole attention, our whole intention.  As long as our perspective is fixing the feeling of longing we are unable to find Unity, perhaps because trying to fix the feeling is focused on ourselves instead of trying to find Him.

The biggest longing of man is to be longed for.  To be needed.  He needs, He wants us.  The greatest blessing isn't feeling satisfied or feeling content.  The greatest calling is to experience oneness with our King.  He is One, He was the creation of all things and He was born for the redemption of all things.  Our hope is built on nothing less.  We are One with Him.  We are never alone.  It's terrifying and wonderful.

"You sang seven notes
The big bang in your throat
Framed in creation and
Proclaimed it was dope.
The Word was G-d in the
Beginning when He spoke
The quote of a quote,
The quote of The Quote"

Who can describe His splendor?  His values, His decisions, His ways?  Perhaps only He could describe His splendor...   Ex 34:6 "and He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, 'The L-rd, the L-rd, the compassionate and gracious G-d, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,'" G-d proclaimed Himself as compassionate, gracious, full of love and faithfulness.  Even before the new testament!

Papa, we love You!  We love Your leadership!  We love Your correction!  We love Your creation!  We love Your destruction.  We love Your jealousy over the whole earth.  Teach us to love You more!

An encounter with G-d is an all consuming process.  As long as we can say 'so what' when we think about G-d, we are not thinking about G-d.  There is no part of our body, soul, spirit and mind that can come away untouched.  The only option is to be humble or hard.  How easy it is for the hard to say 'so what,' and yet He loves even the hardest of hearts!

Lay our hearts bare before You Papa.  You see better than we do.  You know clearer than we do.  You do not look down on us.  You see more sin in us than we know.  We are ashamed when You expose our sins to us, yet You already saw it.  Showing us is a way You love us.  Don't let us hide behind the fake curtain we create to feel safe.  You see through it.  Yet, you love us even when we need to hide to feel safe.  You even see more love in us than we do.  What a great Papa!  Reveal to us Your heart of compassion for us.

  1. I like that... God desires, "not just our actions and service but our whole attention, our whole intention."

    Thought provoking.
