more continued...

"Ahem, (thank you dillion) My calculator watch says we've been walking an average of 10.2 hours a day.  Making about 17min miles that equals..." the fellow had been talking about nonstop since He picked up the pack. "stride is a little short if we want to maximize our efficiency, scientists recommend a step length exactly 39% your height..."  the fellow got out a measuring tape and tried to measure Him as they walked.  the noise has been continuous for three days now.   the only peace and quiet he got was before he fell asleep when the fellow had already passed out.  His ankles were getting soar and so were his ears.  the pack seemed heavier now and the fellow was still going on...  "can't get an exact measurement now, but no worries i'll get on when we stop.  ive got an idea at the next town i'll buy you some shoes, its proven to increase stability and therefor get us closer to our goal faster.  i find faster is better, don't..."
He was beginning to regret picking up the pack.

im enjoying this story.

im going through my music and creating another worship playlist and i came across a little song by relient k.  now before you throw the proverbial bath water out with the teenie bopper baby let me splain...  there song "if you believe me" on the forget and not slow down cd is quite thought provoking.  the chorus really hits me at the moment.  it goes a little something like this

"if  you believe me, we could stand the test of time like no one else, if you believe me, it means you'll have to disbelieve yourself."

i've been struggling with Gd for awhile here.  sometimes believing Gd means disbelieving myself.  laying down my thoughts, goals, pride, maybe even my actual physical life.  am i resting in Him trusting that He is good? trusting that He has a good plan and purpose in the world?

who has fought the Lrd and won?

  1. we like your stories. they are a nice change of pace. Perhaps that's because our stride was too long?

  3. Keep wrestling, Tiger. It's worth it. You've been building your muscles all these months just so you could get to this point. I know you're tired, but you're going to see in the end that it's worth it. You got this!

  4. "sometimes believing Gd means disbelieving myself. laying down my thoughts, goals, pride, maybe even my actual physical life." - these words really hit me in the chest. you said it right. we must believe He is good if we are to do this. He is The Covenant G-d. we KNOW He can be trusted. why then, do we balk?
    thanks for provoking thoughts.
